Effective Networking for the New Year

Wednesday, January 8, 2020
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Please join the Washington Network Group (WNG) when we meet with executive coach and stand-up comedian Jen Coken, who will pull back the curtain on "Effective Networking for the New Year."

Jen Coken

After a long day at work, do you REALLY feel like going to yet another event where you attempt to balance that little plate of food on your drink, shake hands at the same time and give the same 60-second elevator pitch over and over again? NO! Even the most naturally outgoing person can feel awkward and clam up, introverts may feel anxious and others may just feel trapped into going in the first place.

As a writer, coach, speaker, and comedian, Jen Coken’s 30-year career success has depended upon the people she’s met networking and the partnerships she’s formed. Using her career and life experiences, coaching skills and comedic background, Jen will take you on an interactive journey leaving you chomping at the bit to go to your next event!

About Our Speaker:

Jen Coken has distilled 20 years of coaching into no-nonsense learning experiences that drive audiences to take action, make lasting changes, and bring their biggest goals to life. Her seminars, keynotes, and workshops are designed for leaders and their teams, who crave actionable lessons from the heart and the opportunity to laugh at life’s absurdity. Jen’s first book When I Die, Take My Panties: Turning Your Darkest Moments Into Your Greatest Gifts chronicles the experience of coping with her mother's death from ovarian cancer, and shares Jen’s core message - everything that comes our way is meant to teach us about ourselves. Leave it to a comedian to make cancer and leadership development entertaining — but Jen has done it. When she’s not crafting bestselling books or speaking to audiences around the country, you can find Jen performing stand-up comedy, or, eating Nutella by the spoonful in the nearest grocery aisle. Visit her website to learn more. You can also find Jen on LinkedIn.
