The WNG is very pleased to have David London join our WNG Government Roundtable steering committee. David is Senior Director & Head of North America Government Affairs for ofo US. He is responsible for developing public policy strategy across the US, Canada and Mexico. Prior to ofo, he was Head Americas Government Relations at eBay where he set strategic direction for the public policy teams in U.S. Federal, State, Canada and Latin America. During his 12-year career with eBay, David held many leadership positions in both Washington, D.C. and Silicon Valley including; Head of State Government Relations, Head of Western States Government Relations and Head of California Public Policy. Prior to eBay, David worked in Government Affairs for Cisco Systems in San Jose, California. Last year, Michael Seo presented a panel at SXSW on "Value-Based Healthcare from Sweden to Brazil," which was part of the SXSW Health & Wellness program. For 2019, Michael has submitted for consideration another panel titled "Stop Over-Innovating Frontline Health" to discuss his work through ReaMedica, together with CarePay of Kenya, to reshape how people pay for their healthcare expenses in East Africa. Gary Gardner recently secured contracts to develop a set of educational materials for GreenFaith, an organization that advances faith-based sustainability initiatives worldwide. He will co-author a GreenFaith report on the ethics of climate geoengineering for the United Nations COP 24 meeting in Poland in December. Gary will also research and write a separate report on faith responses to the fossil fuel divestment and renewables investment movement, for presentation at a conference in South Africa in January. Veteran communications strategist Brian Wommack has joined the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) as the Senior Vice President of Communications. Most recently, Brian was a partner at the law firm Cameron LLP where he led the strategic communications practice, working closely with all three branches of the federal government, state governments, major global corporations, trade associations, charitable foundations, and prominent individuals. Prior to working at Cameron, he held multiple roles, serving as senior vice president and management supervisor at Powell Tate | Weber Shandwick, a strategic communications and public affairs agency in Washington, DC. Additionally, in December 2017, Brian participated as a panelist on a WNG Communications Roundtable on "High Stakes Messaging."

On July 20, Shaara Roman moderated a NOVA SHRM panel about how to use employee perks to create an engaging workplace. The event is titled "Total Rewards SIG Program: Employee Perks - The Impact on Engagement and Company Culture" and takes place at Tysons Corner, Virginia. Shaara is the Founder and Managing Partner of The Silverene Group. In 2017, she and fellow WNG Member Jennifer Ives gave at excellent presentation to the Washington Network Group on "Winning the Talent Game."
Michael Seo, health entrepreneur and Co-founder of ReaMedica, has received a J&J Trust Accelerator Grant to test and launch ultrasound imaging services at the primary care level in Kenya. Michael writes about his entrepreneurial journey in "Overcoming obstacles to launching effective ultrasound imaging services in Kenya," which was just published on the Johnson & Johnson Corporate Citizenship Trust website. Michael is a member of the WNG International Council. We are very proud to include him as a WNG Member.
Julien Bois marks his five-year anniversary as an Advisory Board Member of the New Technology Venture Accelerator (NETVA). NETVA is a unique program designed to prepare and expose young innovative French companies to high-tech markets in the United States. Melanie Padgett Powers has been elected to a two-year term on the board of directors for Association Media & Publishing, the home for membership association staff and association partners who focus on producing member communications, including magazines, newsletters, websites, social media, podcasts and more. Melanie is a writer, managing editor and copy editor/proofreader, primarily for associations. She was a health writer and editor at membership associations for 13 years before launching MelEdits in 2013.
Pam Keeton has joined Consortium Management Group (CMG) as Director of Communications. CMG is a nonprofit corporation created to serve as a highly responsive, transparent and accountable consortium manager. CMG currently operates two very successful consortia: Consortium for Energy, Environment and Demilitarization (CEED); and Consortium for Command, Control and Communications in Cyberspace (C5). Shawn Taylor, founding Board Member of Veterans Against Alzheimer's, recently was interviewed on Military Network Radio with host Linda Kreter and co-host Les Davis.
