Lucy Flinn is now Director of Marketing at Payroll Network with headquarters in Rockville, Maryland. Payroll Network provides human capital management software and consulting services that handle everything a mid-size employer needs to manage its workforce - from pre-hire to retire. Previously, Lucy was Director of Strategic Communications & Operations at Georgetown University.

Eva Jenkins, Life and Career Transition Coach at VIP Innovations, has released her new e-book on Kindle titled: "RESILIENCE: Seven Skills You Need To Walk Through Life With Strength." Shaara Roman, founder of The Silverene Group has several upcoming speaking engagements. Shaara will be speaking at the AICPA CFO Conference in Chicago, Illinois on April 24. She will share modern and fresh ideas on succession planning in the afternoon general session entitled "Building Leaders of Tomorrow.' On June 12, she will be speaking at the AICPA Not for Profit Conference in Washington, D.C., on the key strategies for leaders to "Create an Engaging Culture to Attract and Retain Talent" as well as running a 75-minute "Unplugged" session on "Fostering a Culture of Respect and Civility." The following week, on June 19, Shaara will give a 20-minute, Ted-talk style, "Short Take: Giggers, Zers and Other Mysteries of the Future Workforce: Strategies to Build a Workforce of the Future" at the National Association of Corporate Director’s Future Trends event. She will also be moderating a talk on “The CHRO as Chief Innovation Officer” at the same event. Andrew Hyde, who is a Senior Advisor at the U.S. State Department, recently joined U.S. Special Representative Zalmay Khalilizad @US4AfghanPeace on a trip to Kandahar to hear first hand about the prospects for peace in Afghanistan from women and youth leaders.

Aaron Miller recently received notification that he is the recipient of the Advancing International Trade Award, making one of two recipients in the U.S. today. Aaron travels to Savannah, Georgia, next week to receive the award on April 11 at the NASBITE annual conference. What an honor! Congratulations.

David Coronado is proud to announce that he has joined the ranks of the Smithsonian Institution. More specifically, David is working at the Smithsonian Latino Center (SLC) as the public affairs specialist where he is now responsible for the publicity, promotion, and marketing of the Center and its exhibitions and programs. This new venture means he also gets to be a part of the opening of the Molina Family Latino Gallery, which will open in 2021 within the National Museum of American History.

Patrick King, founder of Imagine, a marketing agency for tourism, local governments and nonprofits, has been chosen as President-Elect of AMADC, the Washington, DC chapter of the American Marketing Association. Quite an honor! We look forward to seeing Patrick make some great stuff happen with this great marketing organization.

Reid Lohr, Co-Founder and Managing Director of the EDI Advisory Group was recently a guest speaker at the St. Petersburg Conference on World Affairs. Mr. Lohr's discussions focused on several different topics to include: Global Fluency and the impacts it has on decision-making; International Trade - are we nearing a Truce; and Foreign Affairs in a time of nationalism.

Jennifer Dimotta, Owner/President of DiMotta Consulting LLC, will speak at the One Woman Fearless Women's Summit on the topic: "Become Your Own Leadership Coach in 6 Steps." This day-long event takes place on Saturday, April 27, 2019, in Arlington/Ballston Virginia.

Michael Seo, Co-founder of ReaMedica and member of the WNG International Council, has written an article titled "Stop Over-Innovating Health Solutions for the Developing World" published in Fast Company. As Michael writes: "Health innovations in the developing world must support the overall objectives of improving service performance. The introduction of innovations usually require changes in the working processes. In managing those changes in low-resource settings, it is critical to achieve the right mix of the technology and manual systems–and to ensure that the changes are going to be accepted by the workers." Much of ReaMedica's work is centered in Kenya.

Chris Leahy and his wife Kristin are co-hosting this year's Celebrity Tennis Gala in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The event is convened by the WNG Communications Roundtable together with event partner AFF DC and takes place at 1776 Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia.

Lori Saitz, author of How to Feel Comfortable, Confident & Courageous at Networking Events, will co-moderate a WNG brainstorming session on "How to Access Opportunities through Strategic Networking" on Thursday, April 25, 2019. She will be join by WNG Chairman Bill Stokes, who is an executive search consultant. Lori and Bill will discuss with participants successful networking strategies, tactics and best practices. The event takes place in the greater Washington, D.C. region.
