Video now plays a dominant role in the content marketing arena. So says the second edition of the research report, "But Mom Told Me Never to Brag: Raising Your Reputation with Thought Leadership," by WNG member Ed Barks. "With so much online content moving to video, it is time to recognize its importance alongside the other big three­ - speaking, writing, and research," Barks said upon the report's publication. Nancy Mitchell, owner of the firm The Etiquette Advocate, and her new book, Etiquette Rules! A Field Guide to Modern Manners, were selected for inclusion in the National Press Club Book Fair and Authors Night that took place at the Press Club on Friday, November 10.

Marcelle Yeager, CEO of Serving Talent, will present on "Recruiting Diversity: Women and Military" at RecruitDC's Fall 2017 conference on December 7 in Bethesda, Maryland. Sean McColl has now opened a second Juice Plus+ franchise with his wife Kim. The business is focused on helping people live a healthier lifestyle including eating right, exercising regularly, and still making time for family and friends, believing that setting manageable goals and making small changes today can lead to great health benefits down the road. Previously, as co-owner of a marketing company, Sean led sales and marketing for the firm, which experienced exponential growth, and then he engineered the successful sale of the company to a larger corporation.

Javiera Gallardo recently has returned to the greater Washington DC region after working in Chile. We are pleased to report that she has joined the WNG International Roundtable steering committee. Previously, Javiera served as Executive Director at the Washington International Trade Association (WITA) here in the Nation's Capital.

Sindy Yeh is celebrating 16 years at Arlington Economic Development where she is Senior Business Ambassador. Additionally, Sindy is a WNG Board member.

WNG member Ed Barks published the third edition of "How Important Are Nonverbal Signals?" The publication is designed both to help executives sharpen their nonverbal performance and to recognize subtle signals from others when seeking to persuade reporters, policymakers, or a packed auditorium. New sections include advice on prime spots for observing nonverbal behavior, our fascination with lie detection, and an appendix of nonverbal exercises you can use in your everyday professional encounters.
