WEA Presents Tina Leone and the Ballston Business Improvement District

Join the Washington Executives Association (WEA) for a presentation on the Ballston BID with Tina Leone, CEO, who will share how the BID started, what's ahead and future developments.

Tickets are $59 and includes a breakfast buffet. The presentation will begin at 7:55 a.m. with networking opportunities before and after the event.


The Ballston Business Improvement District (BID) is a 25-block neighborhood of commercial and residential properties. With over 8.3 million square feet of office space, 1 million square feet of retail space and 8,000 residential units, Ballston offers a range of market-rate options.

The BID works to attract, support and connect the most creative minds in our region.  Our goal is to make Ballston a foremost business, cultural and entertainment destination.  It is our blend of urban sophistication and neighborhood charm that is unique to this region, boasting top universities, Fortune 500 companies, the Washington Capitals office and practice facility, and many scientific research organizations nestled by upscale hotels, retail, green space and restaurants; all easily accessible by metro and major thoroughfares.

Tina Leone, CPA, CGMA – Chief Executive Officer

Tina Leone, a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant, has more than 20 years of consulting, financial and management experience. She became the founding CEO of the Ballston BID in December 2011 and since then has the BID won 11 awards for communications, media placements, public art, and outstanding support of the business community. Some of the BID’s accomplishments• Created an award-winning brand for and raised the profile of Ballston

• Implemented fast, free, seamless outdoor Wifi throughout the 25-block area of the BID
• Created the BallstonConnect mobile app (15k downloads) and BallstonConnect Podcast (Feb 2018)
• Grown the annual Taste of Arlington from 10,000 to 30,000 attendees
• Created a charitable arm, BallstonGives, to partner with and support social service charitable organizations working in Ballston to have an even higher impact on the community

Her former positions included that of the President/CEO of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce; the President/CEO/CFO of The Lorton Arts Foundation where she provided leadership for the start- up 501(c)3 organization and transformed that vision into a vibrant cultural community that today hosts more than 100 artists at the Workhouse Arts Center at Lorton. She has held accounting, auditing and business consulting positions since 1994.

Ms. Leone is a member the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of CPAs. She has an MS in Management Information Systems from George Washington University and a BS in Accounting from the University of Scranton.
