Post It Pitch – Media Pitching Event

Business Wire - DC presents:

"Post It Pitch - Media Pitching Event"

Make Your Story Stick!

Business Wire cordially invites you to attend the 2019 Media Pitching Event: " Post It Pitch Media Event" on Thursday September 19, 2019

Our event will help you improve your pitching techniques to increase the chances of your pitch getting posted to a journalist!

About:

During this event, you will have the opportunity to pitch one of your stories to Washington DC's top journalists and influencers from various media outlets. The format will mirror speed dating to help you learn new pitching practices. At each table there will be one journalist, a designated pitcher, and the audience. After each round, the journalist and pitcher will rotate to a different table, so the audience can hear multiple pitches and learn from multiple journalists. After your pitch, you will hear feedback from the journalist. At the end of the event, journalists will vote and award PR professionals for the pitch most memorable, best delivery, and most creative.

Pitchers: You will have approximately 2 minutes to pitch your story to a journalist. Your pitch should fit on a post it note, and be memorable and creative.

Audience: After the pitch/feedback period is over, you will have the opportunity to introduce yourself to each journalist, ask for best tips/practices, and make connections for the future!

Space is limited due to the nature of the event. Stay tuned for updates and register before it’s too late!

*Reminder: Our event serves educational purposes and we do not guarantee a story will be picked up by a journalist, as their intention will be to provide feedback to help improve your pitching skills.
