Networking as Adventure – Embark on Your Journey Today!
40Plus of Greater Washington presents:
"Networking as Adventure - Embark on Your Journey Today!"
Think about your career from this moment on as the adventure of a lifetime! Your network, or professional relationships — both current, and new — are your primary resources. Your destination is unique to you, and may evolve over time.
As you embark on this journey, you will face challenges—without them after all, this wouldn’t be an adventure. At times, you will need to take risks, and step out of your comfort zone. The good news is that learning and growth occur outside of our comfort zones. And your network—based on relationships built on trust, can help you navigate obstacles, and uncover new or hidden opportunities. Throughout your journey, you will also help others move ahead with their own professional goals.
In this session, you will:
• Identify initial immediate or longer-term networking goals
• Explore ways to establish rapport with new colleagues
• Practice introducing yourself in a compelling way
• Learn to communicate your value without bragging
• Discuss ways to nurture and grow your network
