While most professionals regularly maintain LinkedIn profiles, the true value of a profile can be unlocked by realizing how recruiters and others search for profiles and what they look for.

Combining her expertise in career counseling, human resources, workforce development and training facilitation, Paula Brand has inspired thousands of women to take charge of their careers. She speaks to groups and provides individual career coaching on using LinkedIn effectively, managing a successful career and navigating through career transitions. Paula owns Brand Career Management and their focus is on empowering mid-career to executive women achieve career bliss.

Paula often trains on LinkedIn to help others understand how to use it effectively. Past engagements include the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), Johns Hopkins University SAIS program and the Penn Wharton Public Policy Initiative. For almost four years, Paula was a regular contributor to the Career Development and Adult Planning Network international newsletter, consistently providing insights on LinkedIn through her column The LinkedInsider. Since 2016 she has provided regular LinkedIn tips in her career newsletter.

Her education includes a master’s degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Baltimore, a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and three industry certifications including: Global Career Development Facilitator, Certified Professional Résumé Writer and Job and Career Transition Coach.
