8:30-10:00am - Program & Q&A
Some organizations have established pipelines and company advancement programs, while a formal path for promotion might not be present at other companies. For some professionals who have proven themselves to be hard workers, they report finding it difficult getting assigned to a shiny new project that can help them grow professionally. Many professionals also feel frustrated that they are unable to find scarce time for leaning into new projects and career development when hustling to meet deadlines for clients, putting out fires, or scrambling from meeting to meeting.
Is there a way for communications and marketing professionals to take their career advancement into their own hands?
In this 90-minute morning workshop, industry experts will discuss how to create a new job for yourself at your current company; how do you position yourself for a promotion; and how to lean into bigger projects at work to build your portfolio and experience.
In this workshop you will learn:
• How to break out of your workplace silo and get experience across business lines
• Be proactive and identify the right project for you
• Ways to contribute to projects outside of the main area of your company role
• Best ways to delegate to others and manage up
• Strategies for creating extra time in your schedule while keeping up with your current responsibilities
• Anne Duffy, Owner and Leadership Coach, The Right Duff Coaching, LLC
• Jaya Bohlmann, APR, Managing Director of Washington DC & Mid-Atlantic, PR Talent
• Alicia Crittendon, Manager of Certification Engagement, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
• Tara Chiarell, General Manager, Allison+Partners
