Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Virtual Summit
Women in Government Relations (WGR) presents:
"Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Virtual Summit"
In a nation that is becoming more diverse—both in terms of its populace and its publicly elected officials, and increasingly complex in the wake of the COVID-19—the ability to engage, understand, and advocate on behalf of communities across spectrums is more important now than ever. Equally important is the ability to find and explore commonality, regardless of a person’s background or worldview. WGR’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Virtual Summit exists to raise awareness among the government relations community about the salience of DEI and how to practically apply it to strengthen advocacy and policy making.
Diverse representation of government affairs professionals is not only necessary to carry forward this country’s founding ideals, but evidence demonstrates that companies which increase the diversity of their leadership teams have greater innovation and improved financial performance . Moreover, when employees in any field experience an organization that is committed to diversity and inclusion, that company experiences improved business performance .
The DEI Summit is a single event whose cumulative programming has been spread across 3 days in order to accommodate the schedules and realities of working from home. While it will be possible to register for only one or two segments of the Summit, we recommend that you register for and attend the full Summit. Only by attending all three portions of the event will you be able to fully experience and internalize this valuable personal and professional development.
