Building and Maintaining a Working Relationship with Congress

Advocacy Leaders Network (ALN) presents:

"Building and Maintaining a Working Relationship with Congress"

With a divided Congress, developing a relationship that works for your organization despite the political climate is more important than ever. This event will explore how to work with this new Congress, win the time and attention of staff and members, and frame the stories that will drive action.

We are excited to announce Brad Fitch, the President and CEO of the Congressional Management Foundation, as our keynote speaker for the March 15th Advocacy Leaders Network event, "Building and Maintaining a Working Relationship with Congress." He will be sharing insights on how to build relationships with new Members of Congress.

This event will explore how to work with this new Congress, win the time and attention of staff and members, and frame the stories that will drive action.

The 116th freshman class is the largest in 25 years. Many advocates woke up the morning after the 2018 election to discover that their long-standing champions for their cause have been sent packing, causing a scramble to cultivate new congressional proponents on the Hill.

During his keynote, you will learn:

  • What matters to Congress?
  • How Freshmen Members of Congress spend their time when they first arrive on Capitol Hill
  • Strategies for building relationships with the large new freshman class of the 116th Congress

Stay tuned for the full list of speakers for this event!
