Powell Tate – the Washington office of Weber Shandwick – is currently seeking a Vice President to join its Public Affairs and Corporate Practices, and to play a key role with longstanding clients. The chosen candidate must have strong public affairs communications experience in the Washington, DC market; a proven track record leading external communications campaigns; and experience working directly with senior-level clients to shape corporate messaging and strategies. Fluency in social media and brand marketing trends, and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences is required. Ambition, poise and collegiality are greatly desired. Political and public relations agency experience is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of how to design and implement public affairs campaigns on behalf of corporate and trade association clients, with an emphasis on highly-regulated industries
• Execute corporate reputation and integrated marketing and communications programs and campaigns
• Provide ongoing counsel to senior client contacts and executives on a daily basis
• Effectively lead teams with various levels of experience and create opportunities for team members to learn and grow – promoting and retaining a work climate conducive to success
• Possess a strong working knowledge of business and political media
• Take responsibility for account management, including budgeting and strategic planning
• Possess and foster excellent presentation, writing and technical assistance skills
• Proactively handle client problems and issues quickly and adeptly
• Develop quality standards and ensure client satisfaction
• Build and nurture client relationship
