Suzan French, president of marketing communications firm FlackShack, has recently been appointed to lead the town of Colonial Beach, Virginia (CBVA) in its revitalization and tourism efforts. CBVA, a river and beach town located on the Potomac 65 mi south of DC, was formerly known as the Playground of the Potomac, until construction of the Bay Bridge made travel to MD shores easier. French and her team are developing a new website and launching a full scale travel and tourism marketing campaign to bring the small, quaint town into the limelight.

Shaara Roman has published a new article on "How to Fix a Toxic Workplace Culture" that appears online at TalentCulture. As Shaara explains: "If you want to win at life, you have to make an intention and a plan to do so. Similarly, if you want to create an engaging culture at your workplace, you have to make an intention and map a strategy to do so. In an era of heightened attention around sexual harassment, a lot of executives are examining their internal cultures. They're finding that there are multiple stressors that lead to toxicity in the workplace, and that the first step to creating change is understanding the context of the problem." If you are thinking about or responsible for your organizational culture, take a moment and read Shaara's latest article. The WNG was fortunate to have Shaara present to our WNG Chairman's Forum on "Winning the Talent Game" in May 2017.
